Interaction Design • Wine Radio
I designed, built, developed and programmed this piece to combine three passions: love of music, love of design, and love of wine.
All three passions are cumulative and synergistic and each one augments the emotional response that one passion would evoke independently. So, I designed a radio with the intent of creating more meaningful emotional interaction with music controlled by wine choice. There is beauty in preparing and pouring wine and I took those actions to cause a musical response in either volume or tuning. A particular bottle when selected causes a certain musical genre to play. The user controls the changing of channels through the process of decanting wine. The volume is manipulated based on the number of glasses of wine filled. This radio enhances the experience of pouring and enjoying a glass of wine by pairing it with music.
